Complete guide to installing IPA files using Esign

Get Esign

Part 1: Download & Setup Esign

1 Download Esign App

Open Safari on your iOS device and visit the official Esign website or download link. Esign is a sideloading tool that allows you to install IPA files on your iPhone or iPad.

2 Install the Profile

After downloading, you'll need to install the configuration profile:

  • Go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management
  • Find the Esign profile
  • Tap "Install" and enter your passcode if prompted
  • Confirm the installation

3 Trust the Developer

Before you can use Esign, you need to trust the developer certificate:

  • Go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management
  • Under "Enterprise App", tap on the developer name
  • Tap "Trust [Developer Name]"
  • Confirm by tapping "Trust" again

4 Open Esign

Launch the Esign app from your home screen. You may need to grant permissions for notifications and file access when prompted.

Important Note:

Esign certificates typically expire after 7 days. You'll need to re-sign your apps periodically or use a paid developer certificate for longer validity.

There are several ways to import your IPA file:

  • Method 1: Tap the "+" button in Esign and browse to your IPA file
  • Method 2: Use the "Share" option from Files app and select "Open in Esign"
  • Method 3: Import from URL by pasting the direct download link

3 Sign the IPA

Once the IPA is imported into Esign:

  • Tap on the IPA file in your library
  • Select "Sign" or "Install"
  • Choose your signing certificate (if you have multiple)

  • The app icon will appear on your home screen
  • Wait for the installation to finish

5 Trust the App

Before launching the app for the first time:

  • Go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management
  • Find the app's developer certificate
  • Tap "Trust [Developer Name]"
  • Confirm by tapping "Trust" again

You can now open and use your installed app! Find it on your home screen and tap to launch.

Troubleshooting Tips:
  • If the app crashes on launch, try re-signing and reinstalling
  • Make sure your iOS version is compatible with the app
  • If installation fails, check that you have enough storage space
  • Some apps may require specific entitlements or permissions
